Winter has finally settled in after several false starts. Is it all about the jet stream and LaNina- will we ever have computers big enough to understand the weather? I doubt it. Maybe the uncertainty is better anyway- the surprise dump of snow at dawn or mysterious clearing of the gloom to see the sun when we're wandering through the forest raises our spirits far more than reading a weather forecast.
